Dear Parents and Guardians
This lockdown is very different to those we have experienced before. In fact the guidelines have changed dramatically since the lockdown was first called on Saturday. I have attached a letter detailing
new updates for schools (PDF).
Today marks the first time since COVID-19 began that schools have been directed by the Department of Education on the Chief Health Officers advice to reduce the number of staff on school locations. Due to the changing nature of the Delta strain and its impact on children more so than in the past, this decision has been made to minimise movement within the 11 locked down LGAs and keep students and staff safe.
Schools have been directed to operate with minimum staff on school grounds while still catering for children of essential workers and children that fall into the vulnerable category. In contrast the number of children attending our school has increased each day since our first day of lockdown. We will continue to cater 100% for our essential workers children and vulnerable children.
We respectfully ask that you to consider carefully, if you are sending your children to school whether your children fit into the new categories of being that of essential workers or in the vulnerable category.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
Kind regards
John Byrne
