Dear Parents and Guardians
Please see updated information attached and how to access the Student Portal.
Snapshot of new info:
Lockdown has been extended until Sunday 8 August 4pm
What will Online Learning look like for you?
Class teachers will have contacted you today by email to explain exactly how your year level will access learning online (this will be different for different year levels). Hopefully you have replied to them already to assist their planning organisation.
In addition to receiving student work by email, all students will have access to our Student Portal, that has many additional learning apps and activities that students may wish to access, including Ebooks.
Details of how to access the Student portal are outlined below.
Student Portal
Maleny State School has a Student Portal (picture below) that has a range of information helpful for Learning@Home (e.g. how to install Teams, Office 365 and FAQs). It also has a range of curriculum-based links for English, Maths and other sites useful for learning.
On the Home page there is also the eBook link (Sora) for the vast eBook library that all children at Maleny have a free subscription to.
You will also find Year Level pages (eg Year1) that contain links to specific content relevant to the specific year (e.g. research links, Mathercise PDF daily activities ideas, etc) or links to Class Notebooks and teacher contact details.
Each student needs to use their own school username (MIS-ID) and password to access the Student Portal. They must log out before their sibling can log in otherwise access won’t be granted. Teachers will advise of student school network credentials in a separate email.
Student school network credentials have 3 parts that are used in different systems as needed. They are:
- Username (MIS-ID): auser1 (1st letter of first name, 1st 4 letters of surname & a number)
- Password: Min of 8 (characters and must have letters, numbers a special character)
- School Email: auser1@eq.edu.au (made up of student username and @eq.edu.au)
Please contact your child’s class teacher if having any access issues to school systems.
Kind regards
John Byrne - Principal Maleny State School
