This term students in year three, five and seven received their individual NAPLAN results. Maleny State School performed above the State in nine out of fifteen areas and above the nation in five areas. Our school focus has been in reading and we are very pleased that our year five students achieved collectively the highest score over the last six years. Overall results indicate that students have added value to their achievement bands as they progress from year three to seven.
I presented our schools results to our School Council meeting last week and will also present these at the next P&C meeting. As a school we will reflect on our results, programs and teaching practices and look at strategies that we can employ to ensure we continue to improve.
