The School Wide Positive Behaviour focus for this coming fortnight is the buzz words of "
I Choose to Defuse!"".
This means that to be safe students will:
I say STOP if someone or something is upsetting me.
I WALK away from the situation to a safe place.
I TALK to someone I can trust.
I CONTROL myself and keep my COOL.
I can solve problems in a calm manner.
As part of class activities teachers and students will discuss and consider:
What is a peaceful resolution.
Providing students with strategies to use when faced with a social/emotional problem. (Count backwards, breathing, have a drink, go for a walk)
What happens if I don’t keep my cool! What does it look like? Is it appropriate?
How does it affect others? Would others’ think it is COOL?
Discuss the STOP, THINK, DO process.
Every ACTION has a REACTION and only individuals can control their own Actions.
