Many Thanks to Helen and Theo's Grandmother for donating a double rotating compost bin for our garden. William and Cameron from Year 4 have been doing a terrific job at collecting the compost from all eating areas each day. The garden beds have been weeded and ready to plant out with herbs and vegetables. All eating areas have signs and photos to show what can be recycled to help the students use the correct bin.

We had Sandie Johnston from the Sunshine Coast Council come up to talk to some of our staff and our wonderful and dedicated cleaners. Our school has signed up for the STARS program where the council will be donating extra recycling wheelie bins but also providing composting and recycling bins for all classes. Some of our students will be trained in completing an audit and becoming bin monitors in different eating areas to determine how we can reduce landfill. Classes are now learning about the importance of recycling and are learning to identify what goes in each bin.
