ANZAC Day

30/03/2015

A Whole School Community Event

Maleny State School families are encouraged to write a message, wish, memory, thought or find a copy of a photo of a family member who may have been involved or are currently involved in Australia’s defence forces. This will then be put inside a small white box. On the box will be a handmade poppy which will be attached to a black ribbon.  Each individual box will then be added to the collection of 100 (or more) boxes.  These boxes if named (on the bottom of the box) can be returned to families after the display as a keepsake. To make it easy we have prepared small kits containing most of the equipment required in a snaplock bag (except strong glue). If you would like to be involved please ask for a kit from your child’s teacher. Brochures will be sent home to all families today.

School Parade – Parents Welcome

We will be holding our own school ANZAC Ceremony on Tuesday 21 April at a special parade commencing at 2:10pm. Parent support is very much appreciated. Parents are also welcome to place a flower on our school wreath.

ANZAC DAY March

Please bring students dressed in full school uniform to march as part of our school on ANZAC Day. We will meet at Cooke Park at 10:15am and march down the street to the Maleny RSL. Parents are welcome to march as well or collect students after the official ceremony. Our School Captains will speak at the official ceremony and lay a wreath.
